ACM Alu Panel – How to Plastic Weld it

Signage installers are today using a lot of what is called Aluminium Composite Panel (ACM) or Alu Panel –

ACM has a high density Polyethylene core sandwiched between two thin aluminum sheets. The result is a light weight signage sheet board with excellent flatness and flexural stiffness, which is ideal for interior and exterior applications.

The plastic (hdpe) core can also be welded. A special router blade is used  to cut and expose the plastic core material, which can then be welded using a Weldy Plastic Welding Kit.

This simple welding procedure will provide additional stiffness and strength to ACM Alu Panels, for use in applications that may warrant extra strength eg. Light Boxes
